Travel Club

Congratulations to our 2009-2010 Capture the Flag winner, Excelsior Chapter!

They captured 22 flags!

Lynda Clements from Excelsior Chapter won the individual travel ribbon competition.

Sisters and Brothers, we hope you are ready to travel and share an adventure to explore other Chapters with our 2010-2011 "Spirit of Adventure" Passport Club. We will again have a two part contest for traveling and visiting of Eastern Star Chapters and events. The first part is a Chapter competition of "Capture the Marbles".  Each Chapter will be issued a bag of marbles, which can be "Captured" by another visiting Chapter.

The rules are simple:

  • A minimum of four members must visit a regular stated meeting of another OES Chapter.  Please note:  Marbles cannot be captured during a Grand Family Visit, an Official Visit, a fund raiser or a Friendship Night.
  • If two or more teams visit a Chapter, the team with the most members will claim the marbles.  If the teams have the same number of team members, the team the greatest distance from their Chapter will claim the marbles.
  • A Chapter can only lose one bag of marbles per meeting.

There is also an individual component to the Passport Club, in which members can receive a ribbon and pins for earning personal points for attending various Eastern Star Events.  A total of 100 points will be needed to receive a "Spirit of Adventure" paw print ribbon.  Those collecting an additional 200 points will be given a "Wolf" pin to wear on your ribbon.  Grand Officers would have an advantage in accumulating points.  Therefore, if a Grand Officer attends a function they are expected to attend because of their office, their points will be counted at 50% of their stated value.  Example:  A visit to a Chapter meeting during an Official Visit would receive 2-1/2 travel points intead of 5 points.

We are asking that you help us to control the cost of this adventure by contributing a $3.00 joining fee when you send in your first point sheet to receive your ribbon.  This will help us cover mailing and administration costs.
