Travel Club
"A TIME TO VISIT"
This year our travel club plan is called "Bear Trackers". This program is to encourage visiting the Chapters within your District as well as other Chapters in other Districts. Spending a "moment in time" with other chapters and Masonic bodies can broaden our world as we know it. We can learn from each other, support one another, increase our list of friends, and enhance relationships between chapters and chapters with other Masonic bodies.
Each chapter has received a Bear Banner. The object is for a chapter is to 'track down' and collect as many banners by the start of Grand Chapter on May 3, 2012.
The rules are:
- When a minimum of three members from the same chapter visits a regular stated meeting of another OES Chapter, they can "collect" the visited Chapter's Bear Banner. If more than one visiting Chapter have three respresentatives or a tie number of members in attendance, the members from the Chapter Home furthest away will collect the Bear Banner.
- Banners cannot be captured during a Grand Family Visit, Grand Family Degrees, an Official Visit, Receptions or Anniversaries. Banners may not be taken at Installation or from a chapter after installation of the new corps of officers. The banner coincides with the chapter's year.
- Grand Officers cannot be counted when visiting in their official capacity, (.e., acting on behalf of or as a Grand Chapter Officer).
- Escorts may be counted from their home Chapter only.
- No banners may be considered when a Chapter is acting as host or hostess away from their regular meeting place.
Bring your Bear Banners to the 2012 Grand Chapter Session. There will be recognition awards for each of the six Districts and an overall award.
