Finding your Direction, July 2010
In writing this edition, the summer season is coming upon us. Some Chapters are recessing to recharge their batteries for the fall. We need to keep in mind God's almighty power and his all knowing wisdom. The lesson we have learned and are putting into practice is that the hollow square outlines the dimensions of Solomon's Temple of Jerusalem. The front door is open to represent the truth that the doorway to God is always open to anyone who genuinely seeks to know the truth. As the Star Points protect and guard the Altar, the hollow square protects the labyrinth within.
Square corners have an important symbolic meaning. When we make a square corner correctly, we are acknowledging a belief in an invisible power - God. When you are doing the marches, keep in mind that God's all seeing eye is ever upon you
The question is often asked, why is our star "upside down"? Rob Morris clearly indicates in his writings that it is to portray the five stages of Christ's life. The explanation of this statement will come in further editions.
Our journey, so far, has been exciting. Our sails are full with favorable winds. The memories are some of what we take with us and pass them on to other Grand chapters and members. To see the country side with all the flowers blooming and trees in blossom, it's great to count our blessings as we venture on the next stop. Eastern Star people are the greatest.
The wind blows where it chooses, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.
